In 1982 I worked for Donald Ray Nunley, my brother-in-law. We built a large house on the side of a mountain in Sebastopol, California. It was quite a job digging in the side of the mountain to put in several rows of forms to pour in the cement for the foundation. Because of where the house was built, it had to be stair stepped up the mountain. We then started building the house on top of the stair-stepped foundation, up to the street level.I hope the house hasn’t slid off and down the mountain.
The people that had us build the house for them had two young boys. They didn’t have a back yard to play in. There was a big drop off in the back of the house.
Donald Ray’s two sons, Scott and Joe helped us build the house. It was just the four of us building it.
