One year, Wanda and I went to Monrovia, California to visit my sister, Alice and her husband Babe. They were rock hounds, and they were members of a rock club. Alice and Babe would go all over looking for rocks that they could cut and polish.
When we arrived at their house, the rock club members had an outing planned to go up to the Bakersfield Mountains in Bakersfield, California. Alice and Babe invited us to join in the outing with them.
When we got up in the mountains, we were given some screens on frames that were about 2 feet square. The screens were made of heavy mesh and were fastened to the frames. We all dug down into the dirt and put what we dug up on the screens, shaking them. The dirt would fall through and leave hunks of stuff on the screens. We all kept doing the digging and the shaking. What was left on the screens were shark’s teeth.
It was amazing and fascinating to be high up in the mountains finding shark's teeth.
At one time, the mountains were under water and there had to be a large school of sharks that were stranded there when the water went down. We guessed that it had to be the time that God flooded the earth during the time of Noah and the Ark.
We had a real good time finding all the shark's teeth.
