Ronnies trophy shelf was always full baseball, soccer, bowling etc. One trophy that he had was my personal favorite not because it was the largest, it was small
its value was great because he earned it attached leg to leg with me. It was 1976 on the fourth of july....the Bicentennial. Everyone in the small town of Forks Washington seemed to show up for a full day of celebrating. There was a parade, a variety of logging contests, and of course there were kids contests. I remember reluctantly agreeing to join Ronnie in the three legged race, he needed a partner or he was out. Somthing about me being a lefty and him being so fast made it an easy win. With so many kids entered, winning was very satisfying. The plus was now he had a story in which I was part of the success. He could have carried me across the line for the win but always gave me credit when he spoke of it.
